Description
You know the drill with aluminum rods. They're heavy by lunch and the locks start creeping by year two. The 2022-M fixes both problems.
At 1.8 pounds, this rod weighs about half what you're used to carrying. That matters when you're running topo all day or hiking a receiver into a site the truck can't reach. Carbon fiber also stays dimensionally stable when the temperature swings, so your rod height in July matches your rod height in January.
The snap-loc collar is the reason to buy this rod over a friction-lock model. It clicks in at exactly 2.0 meters and stays there. No creep, no re-checking your rod height every few shots, no busting a shot because the pole slipped a few millimeters under load. The compression lock backs it up when you need to run at a different height.
The 20-minute vial is adjustable, so when it drifts (every vial drifts), you calibrate it in the field instead of living with bad plumb. Check it against a doorframe or a plumb bob and dial it back in.
The 5/8-11 fixed mount takes any standard GNSS receiver or prism assembly. Trimble, Leica, Topcon, doesn't matter. Thread it on and go.
Collapsed, it's 4.5 feet, so it rides in the cab instead of the bed.
If you're on a rover every day, this is the rod that stops fighting you.
